Dayton’s Average Attendance of 12,942 Fans A Game Is Second-Best Ever

DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's basketball team ranked 25th nationally in average attendance in 2015-16 in the annual men's basketball attendance report that was announced today by the NCAA. 
UD's average crowd of 12,942 fans a game is the second-best in school history, just 40 fans less than the 12,982 in the Arena's first season in 1969-70. Despite improving 224 fans from a year ago, Dayton actually dropped one spot in the national rankings. 

Other Notable Attendance Figures
• Highest average attendance since the 1969-70 season when UD ranked fifth. That season, Dayton averaged 12,982 fans per game.
• Rated in the Top 30 for 19 straight years.
• Since UD Arena opened in 1969, Dayton has been in the NCAA`s Top 35 in attendance every season, and in the top 25 a total of 28 times.
• The Flyers led the Atlantic 10 in attendance for the 19th straight season as well.
• UD was 14-3 in 2015-16 en route to winning the A-10 regular-season championship last season. 
• Dayton has won 36 of its last 39 games at home.
• Nearly nine-and-a-half million fans have attended UD Arena in the last 47 seasons.
