COACH ORDWAY'S COMMENTS
"We had a decent day overall," said head coach
Jason Ordway. "I wouldn't say it was a stellar performance, but we weren't exactly tapering for this race. We've had pretty good workouts the last couple weeks. We are ahead of where we were last year. We went out aggressively and our legs weren't quite ready yet, and we couldn't respond like we would have liked to. We are in a really good position moving forward. I am gaining confidence on where we are at and what we are doing. Our training is starting to ramp up so we should have a good end to the season. I think we lit some fires under the guys here and the guys at Friendship are looking forward to racing and to compete with these guys. We were really close to beating a team in Notre Dame that is ranked really high in our region. That shows the hard work we are putting in and that we are in a really good spot."
