NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released the women's basketball schedules on Wednesday, completing the University of Dayton 2016-17 slate.
"Our schedule will test us and help us prepare early with a lot of tough games on the road," said head coach
Shauna Green. "We set this schedule up in order to have us battle-tested going into Atlantic 10 play. We have to play the best to be the best so we are very excited about our opportunities."
The Flyers had previously announced the non-conference schedule last month with a bevy of perennial powers in defending National Champion Connecticut, Princeton, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, and Virginia. Dayton will also compete in three tournaments, the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas on Nov. 25-26, the Florida Sunshine Classic in Orlando, Fla. on Dec. 20-21, and the Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville, Va. on Dec. 28-29.
The Atlantic 10 schedule will start early with La Salle at home on Dec. 4, followed by five non-conference games. The Flyers return to conference play on Dec. 31 at home against Massachusetts.
Dayton will play Saint Louis, Duquesne, and George Washington both at home and on the road.
The Flyers travel to St. Bonaventure, George Mason, Davidson, VCU, and Fordham while hosting Massachusetts, Saint Joseph's, Rhode Island, and Richmond.
The 2015-16 season saw a ninth-consecutive postseason berth as Dayton earned a spot in the WNIT. The Flyers return a veteran squad with five seniors, A-10 Rookie of the Year

Jenna Burdette. Coach Green is in her first year in charge of the Flyer program and will be looking to return Dayton to the postseason for its 10
th season in a row.
At the time of the release, the Flyers were scheduled to have four games nationally televised:
- Dayton vs. George Washington (CBSSN) – Jan. 8
- Dayton at Saint Louis (ESPNU) – Jan. 15
- Dayton at George Washington (ESPNU) – Feb. 12
- Dayton at Fordham (NBCSN) – Feb. 19
Regionally televised games may be announced at a later date.
