DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will return home to the friendly confines of UD Softball Stadium Tuesday for a t 4 p.m. match-up against Wright State. Tuesday's game is the front end of a home-and-away series between the regional rivals as UD will play at WSU Wednesday at 6 p.m.
About Dayton
Dayton (12-11) is coming off a 3-1 weekend at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational, picking up wins over Detroit Mercy and Fort Wayne (twice) while dropping a close 3-2 decision to host Miami. Today's game is the second home game for the Flyers this season. UD is led offensively by senior
Gabrielle Snyder with a .444 average (2nd A-10) that includes 32 hits (1st A-10) and has scored a team-best 19 runs. The team's top hurler is junior

Scouting Wright State
Wright State (3-13) is currently suffering a four-game losing skid after picking up a 9-1 win over Tennessee Tech on March 3. The Raiders haven't played since March 12, 14-6 loss to Ohio. WSU is led by Honnah Susor with 16 hits and 13 walks and is a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases. Ally Russell (1-2) boasts the team's low ERA at 2.71 while Ashley Sharp has tallied a team-best 16 strikeouts.
Series Stuff
Wright State is one of Dayton's most-played opponents and according to the annals the two have previously met 123 times. The Raiders have claimed 69 wins in the series while the Flyers have 52 victories and there have been two ties. WSU picked up two wins over UD last season, 2-0 and 8-0.
There's Your Double
Senior Gabby Snyder is an ace in the circle but she also carries a big bat. After batting her third double on the season against Northern Kentucky on Feb. 17, Snyder set a new Dayton career doubles record, a mark previously held by former Flyer Kathleen Maloof - sister of current Flyer
Madi Maloof. Snyder now has 48 career doubles.
Speaking of the Record Book
Junior
Manda Cash has already made her mark on the Dayton record book and continues to climb the rankings. Her career ERA of 1.61 ranks second all-time in program history, behind only former Flyer Sara Hatcher (1.44, 1997-2000). Additionally, Cash has tallied 432 career strikeouts which ranks third, also behind Hatcher (435).

Sophomore
Kyle Davidson was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week while junior
Manda Cash earned Pitcher of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Monday, March 20. Davidson helped lead the Flyers to a 3-1 weekend at the Miami Invitational by going 7-for-14 at the plate over four starts. Cash worked a total of 12 innings over the weekend for Dayton, including six hitless innings against Detroit Mercy while tallying eight strikeouts to only two walks in a 6-1 win.
