DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is set to open the home portion of its 2017 schedule Wednesday against Ohio. First pitch between the Flyers and Bobcats is set for 4 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium.

Scouting Ohio
Ohio (12-2) is currently enjoying a three-game winning streak and the team's two losses have come at South Carolina and at nationally-ranked Tennessee. The Bobcats are led offensively by Morgan Geno with a .389 average and Alex Day with 16 hits and 11 runs scored. In the circle, SavannahJo Dorsey holds a 0.99 ERA and has tallied 71 strikeouts over 49.2 innings pitched.

• Dayton and Ohio have previously met 27 times with the Bobcats holding a 21-6 advantage in the series. The two last squared off in 2016 in a doubleheader on April 20 at UD Softball Stadium. UD picked up the first game, 1-0, and OU claimed the nightcap, 9-4.
