THREE GAMES AT LA SALLE NEXT STOP FOR #UDSB

Flyers Currently in Fourth Place in A-10 Standings

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will leave the friendly confines of UD Softball Stadium this weekend for a three-game Atlantic 10 series at La Salle. The two will square off for a single game Friday at 3 p.m. followed by a doubleheader Saturday that is set to get underway at 12 p.m. All three games are scheduled to be played at La Salle's West Campus Field.

About Dayton
Dayton (20-18, 7-4 A-10) had its five-game winning streak cut short as it split its non-conference, mid-week doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky at home on Wednesday. In its last A-10 outing, Dayton recorded a three-game sweep of St. Bonaventure last weekend also at home. The Flyers' offense is led by senior Gabrielle Snyder (.416, 1st A-10), the only active player with a batting average above .400. She also has the team's most hits (52, 1st A-10), doubles (12, t-2nd A-10) and runs scored (27). In the circle for UD, junior Manda Cash (11-8) leads the corps with a 2.41 ERA and 137 strikeouts (1st A-10) over 110.1 innings pitched.

Scouting La Salle
La Salle (14-16, 4-5 A-10) is coming off a 1-2 weekend at home against A-10 fie George Washington. The Explorers' Marlo Roadcap (7-6) struck out a career-high 15 batters in the opening game against GW on Saturday to help the Explorers to a 5-2 win. She is third in the A-10 with 111 strikeouts this season. Offensively, La Salle is led by Christina Bascara with a team-best 25 hits, including eight doubles, and she is one of two Explorers that has started every game this season.

Series Stuff
In the 49 times Dayton and La Salle have previously squared off, the Flyers have collected 35 wins over the course of the all-time series. The two last met April 16-17, 2016 for a three-game set in Dayton with UD sweeping the series.

RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) that includes games through April 9, Dayton came in at 193 according to NCAA.com - up 17 spots from last week. La Salle is rated 236.

There's Your Double
Senior Gabby Snyder is an ace in the circle but she also carries a big bat. After batting her third double of the season against Northern Kentucky on Feb. 17, Snyder set a new Dayton career doubles record and she now has 53 career doubles.

She's A Hit Machine
With 196 career hits, senior Gabby Snyder now ranks second all-time on the Dayton career hits list. Inches away from former Flyer Molly Meyer (2007-10) who is at the top of the list with 197, Snyder needs just TWO more hits to take over the top spot. She is currently in first place in the A-10 standings with 52 hits this season.

Speaking of the Record Book
Junior Manda Cash has already made her mark on the Dayton record book and continues to climb the rankings. Her career ERA of 1.73 ranks third all-time in program history. Additionally, Cash has tallied 487 career strikeouts which ranks second, behind only former Flyer Kayla English (2012-15) who holds the record with 564.

She's a Quick One
With 14 stolen bases on the season, senior Hannah DeSalvo has already surpassed her career total from the last three years. Her 24 career stolen bases cracked Dayton's top-10 list, ranking her tied for eighth place all-time with two other former Flyers. DeSalvo has also been hit by a pitch 13 times this season (2nd A-10), setting a new Dayton single-season record.
