DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will be hosting Atlantic 10 foe Rhode Island this weekend for a three-game series. Saturday's doubleheader is set to get underway at 12 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium.

Dayton (24-19, 10-4 A-10) split its midweek doubleheader at Akron Wednesday, winning the first game, 7-3, and dropping the second, 4-2, after it was shortened due to weather and darkness. Rhode Island (6-29, 3-11 A-10) is currently suffering through a 10-game losing streak and the Rams' last win was a 6-5 victory at UMass Lowell on April 5. URI is in ninth place in Atlantic 10 team standings and the Rams are led offensively by Kylie Shivery with a .346 batting average that includes a team-high 36 hits. In the circle for Rhode Island, Sarah Gunderson (2-11) has the team's most appearances and starts with three complete games over 79.0 innings pitched. Becca Rogers is the team's strikeout leader with 47.

With 204 career hits, senior Gabby Snyder now owns the Dayton all-time career hits record. Additionally, after batting her third double of the season against Northern Kentucky on Feb. 17, Snyder set a new Dayton career doubles record and she now has 53 career doubles.

Manda Cash has already made her mark on the Dayton record book and continues to climb the rankings. Her career ERA of 1.73 ranks third all-time in program history. Additionally, Cash has tallied 505 career strikeouts which ranks second, behind only former Flyer Kayla English (2012-15) who holds the record with 564.

Hannah DeSalvo has already surpassed her career total from the last three years. Her 27 career stolen bases ranks her sixth all-time. DeSalvo has also been hit by a pitch 14 times this season (2nd A-10), setting a new Dayton single-season record.
