TORONTO – The Canadian Women's National Basketball Team has selected twelve athletes to travel to France and Spain for a five-game tournament starting this weekend.

Saicha Grant-Allen has been chosen to play for Team Canada with the senior national team in its upcoming exhibitions.
Grant-Allen, a Hamilton, Ontario native, joins the sixth-ranked squad for games against second-ranked Spain (May 26) and 13
th-ranked Japan (May 27) in Torrelavega, Spain. The team will then travel to Bordeaux, France for games against 27
th-ranked Montenegro (May 31), third-ranked France (June 1), and 41
st-ranked Ukraine (June 2).
"This first phase of training is focused on developing our next generation of athletes and assessing where we are globally," said Lisa Thomaidis, head coach, women's national team. "We'll play some of the best teams in the world in this tournament - which will help us set benchmarks - and determine what we need to build upon in phase two."
Grant-Allen is coming off her senior season in 2016-17 where she led the Flyers to a pair of Atlantic 10 Championships, an NCAA Tournament berth, and earned A-10 All-Defensive Team and Second Team honors. She was selected 35
th overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.
