DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will host George Washington this weekend for its final home series of the season. Saturday will be celebrated as Alumnae Day with a special recognition of the 10-year anniversary of the class of 2008 between games of the doubleheader. Prior to Sunday's game, Dayton will recognize its senior team members for Senior Day.
First pitch for both Saturday and Sunday is scheduled for 12 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium.

Scouting George Washington
George Washington (27-15, 7-7 A-10) heads into this weekend's three-game set one win shy of tying the program's single-season record, set in last spring's 28-24 campaign. GW split a Wednesday doubleheader at Revolutionary Rival George Mason. Of the Colonials' everyday starters, Jenna Cone holds the team's best batting average (.420 - 2nd A-10) and she has tallied 50 hits (2nd A-10). Sarah Costlow carries the team's low ERA of 2.62 (6th A-10) and Sierra Lange's 83 strikeouts is tied for fifth in the A-10.
Series Stuff
Dayton and George Washington have previously met 29 times with the Flyers holding an 18-11 advantage in the series. UD has won six straight and seven of its last eight meetings with GW.
RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2018 season, released April 15, Dayton came in at 186 (up 20 spots from last week) according to NCAA.com. George Washington ranked 178.
