DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team came out victorious in a tough Atlantic 10 match up against Saint Joseph's by a score of 72-56.
The Flyers (10-8, 5-2 A-10) stand as fifth in the conference, while the Hawks (6-14, 2-5 A-10) continue trying to break their losing-streak while on the road.

4th quarter – 2:20 mark – Saint Joseph's was within striking distance of Dayton, following by only one point, but
Shakeela Fowler hit a three that gave the Flyers momentum in the tight-scoring last quarter, and forced a SJU timeout.

1ST Quarter: Dayton 15, Saint Joseph's 12
- Senior Tiaera Phillips opened up the game with a bucket for UD even though both teams struggled to get in-sync offensively.
- The Flyers held the Hawks scoreless for the first four minutes of play, and with a scoring run of 6-0.

- A Hawk's foul put senior Lauren Cannatelli behind the free throw line, and she responded by hitting both shots with 7:36 left in the quarter.
- Giacone's three pointer gave UD the first double-digit lead of the match and forced a Saint Joseph's timeout with 6:24 remaining.
- Gaining from four turnovers, UD picked up the pace with a 9-0 run for 4:37.
- UD went 1-for-8 in field goals with less than two minutes in the second quarter, while Saint Joesph's went on a 7-0 run over 1:47.
- The Hawks closed the gap to one point going into the locker rooms as Dayton went 3:50 without any baskets.
- Giacone led with six points and Phillips had five rebounds.

- Both teams went scoreless for 3:58 until Fowler granted her first basket of the game, and Dayton improved their edge to 35-30.
- At the media timeout, Saint Joseph's faced five turnovers and a scoring drought, both lasting 4:26.
- Cannatelli connected with all of her free throws and was the first Flyer to reach double-digits with 10 points.
4th Quarter: Dayton 66, Saint Joseph's 59
