Peterson, Dubay, Moore Sweep #A10VB Weekly Awards

Dayton To Host Davidson, VCU In Final Weekend Of Regular Season

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton's Jamie Peterson, Olivia Dubay and Amelia Moore swept the Atlantic 10 volleyball weekly awards as announced by the conference office Monday. Peterson claimed her sixth Player of the Week nod, Dubay was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week and Moore was named Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Saint Louis' Cayce Chaykowsky shared Defensive Player of the Week accolades with Dubay. The awards are for matches played Nov. 4-10.

Peterson, a sophomore from West Liberty, Ohio, led the Dayton offense with 4.57 kills per set in two conference wins for the Flyers over the weekend. On Friday, she tallied 16 kills, six digs, five blocks and three assists as Dayton picked up a 3-1 win at La Salle. At Duquesne on Saturday, Peterson posted 16 kills, six digs and three blocks as Dayton claimed the sweep of the Dukes. For the week, she hit at .312 and averaged 5.57 points/set and 1.14 blocks/set. 

Dubay, a junior from Lake Elsinore, Calif., averaged 1.57 blocks per set over two conference road wins this past weekend for Dayton. In Friday's 3-1 win at La Salle, she recorded a career-high nine blocks to go with nine kills while hitting at .500 for the match. Dubay had five kills and two blocks in Saturday's sweep at Duquesne.

Moore helped lead Dayton to back-to-back conference road wins over the weekend, averaging 3.57 points per set for the Flyers. The Ocean Springs, Miss., native tallied eight kills, four blocks, four digs and three aces in Dayton's 3-1 win at La Salle on Friday. In Saturday's sweep at Duquesne, Moore had nine kills while swinging at .615 to go with two blocks and two aces for the Flyers.

Dayton will close out its 2019 regular season with two home matches this coming weekend. On Friday, Dayton will welcome Davidson to Frericks Center for a 7 p.m. match-up followed by Senior Day on Sunday against VCU at 1 p.m. With wins for both Dayton and VCU on Friday, Sunday's match will decide the league's regular season champion.
