DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team has earned the number two seed at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship to be hosted by Rhode Island at the Rams' Keaney Gymnasium Nov. 22-24. Dayton earned a first-round bye and will face off against the winner of the #3 Saint Louis/#6 Davidson match-up on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m.

Dayton (20-8, 13-1 A-10) is making its 20th-consecutive and 23rd overall appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2019 and will play the winner of the #3/#6 quarterfinal matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Flyers are led offensively by sophomore
Jamie Peterson with a league-leading 4.67 kills/set (14th NCAA) and 0.41 aces/set (3rd A-10). The duo of junior
Olivia Dubay (1.11 blocks/set, 5th A-10) and freshman
Amelia Moore (1.09 blocks/set, 6th A-10) are the Flyers' front line of defense while sophomore
Maura Collins passes a team-best 4.15 digs/set (5th A-10).
Scouting Saint Louis
Saint Louis (16-11, 10-4 A-10) closed out the regular season with a 1-1 weekend against VCU and Davidson last week. The Billikens finished third in league standings and, as a team, rank third in the A-10 with a .214 hitting percentage. SLU's offense is led by Maya Taylor with 3.92 kills/set (3rd A-10) and Kennedy Cordia with 0.46 aces/set (1st A-10) and 9.51 assists/set (2nd A-10).
Scouting Davidson
Davidson (10-17, 5-9 A-10) is currently suffering a four-match losing streak and the Wildcats have lost seven of their last nine matches heading into championship weekend. DC's Hattie Rodriguez tallies 3.39 kills/set (5th A-10) and Sydney Champaigne serves as the primary setter with 9.44 assists/set (3rd A-10) while Madeline Wynn records 1.12 blocks/set (4th A-10).
RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI), released Nov. 18, Dayton ranked 51st according to NCAA.com. Saint Louis came in at 116th while Davidson was ranked 228th.

Tim Horsmon is in his 11th season overall, and sixth since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2019. His record at Dayton is 281-81 and his career win-loss mark sits at 457-245 in 21 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's second-winningest coach behind only R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• Over the last 11 seasons (2009-2019), the Flyers have recorded a 143-13 (.917) mark in regular season Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2016, 2015 and 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2019, 2017, 2014, 2011 and 2009.
• Dayton is making its 20th-consecutive and 23rd overall appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2019. The Flyers have reached conference post-season play every year they have been a member of the A-10 except 1995 and 1999. UD holds a 27-10 record in league tournaments.
