DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's soccer team held its annual awards banquet Friday night at UD Arena, reflecting back on the 2019 season.
Student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and family members were on hand to celebrate the individual and team success of this past campaign.
The coaching staff also presented the following team awards:
Offensive Player of the Year –
Jonas Fjeldberg, Junior Midfielder
Defensive Player of the Year –
Cole Watkins, Senior Defender
Freshman of the Year –
Xavier Zengue, Freshman Defender
Most Valuable Player –
Jonas Fjeldberg, Junior Midfielder
Coaches Achievement Award –
Federico Barrios, Senior Goalkeeper
Dayton finished the year with a 13-8 record overall and 6-2 mark in Atlantic 10 play. The Flyers recorded the third most wins in program history and had the third-longest winning streak at eight games. UD finished in the top 10 in total goals, assists, and points in the nation. UD was also 9-1 at home this season.
