THE TRANSFORMED UD ARENAÂ
The University of Dayton has completed a three-year, $76.2 million transformation project of UD Arena in time for the Arena's 50th anniversary season. The project transformed the 50-year-old facility into a state-of-the-art venue.  The upgrade, the largest construction project in University history, modernizes the Arena without losing the "soul of the bowl" – the atmosphere that has made UD Arena one of the best places to watch college basketball in the country.
#TRENDINGÂ
•   This is the Flyers' fourth trip to the Maui Invitational.  UD is 8-2 in the Lahaina Civic Center, and won the tournament in 2003.
•   Monday's win over Georgia was the first of the season where the Flyers did not have at least four players score in double figures. Â
Obi Toppin scored 25 (9-11 FG, 2-3 3-pt., 5-5 FT) and
Jalen Crutcher scored 20, seemingly including a three-pointer to snub every Georgia run.
•   Toppin opened the year with a career-high 29 points and added 12 rebounds against Indian State.  Toppin was 10 of 16 FG, 8 of 11 FT, and had six dunks.Â
•   He is two slams away from his 100th career dunk.  And keep in mind that he enters the Virginia Tech game with just 19 starts and 37 career games. (Full disclosure he scored 25 against Georgia with no dunks, so he is far from a one-pitch pitcher.)
•   Toppin is currently first in the A-10 in scoring (24.0) and FG% (.725, 37-51).Â
•   He has been named to both the James Naismith Trophy and Lute Olson Award Watch Lists for national player of the year.  The Preseason First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection is also on the Karl Malone Award Watch List, which goes to the top collegiate power forward.  Jay Bilas also lists him as his top breakout candidate this year.
•   The Flyers came into the tournament first nationally in FG% (.557, 103-185), tied for first (with Texas Tech) in assists as a team (22.0), and are eighth in both scoring (89.7) and A/T ratio (1.78). Â
