LEXINGTON, Ky. - For the third-consecutive year, a University of Dayton volleyball player has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on its All-America Honorable Mention Team. Sophomore Jamie Peterson becomes the program's 17th All-American as announced by the AVCA on Dec. 18.

Peterson, a native of West Liberty, Ohio, was named the AVCA Midwest Region Player of the Year earlier this month and earned Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year accolades at the end of the regular season. She finished 2019 averaging 4.58 kills/set (1st A-10, 19th NCAA), 5.41 points/set (1st A-10, 10th NCAA) and 0.39 aces/set (3rd A-10, 57th NCAA). The 2019 A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player was named A-10 Player of the Week seven times for her efforts and posted 14 double-doubles this season.

Dayton made the program's 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2019 after earning the Atlantic 10 Conference's automatic bid after claiming their league-record 13th A-10 Championship title, a 3-1 win over top-seeded VCU on November 24.
