CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The University of Dayton softball team dropped its first two games at the Chattanooga Challenge Friday, both by a one-run margin. Toledo staved off Dayton's seventh-inning comeback bid, 6-5, while Indiana State held on for a 4-3 win in the nightcap.
Dayton moves to 3-4 on the season while Toledo is now 2-4 and Indiana State improves to 3-0.

Lisa Tassi led the Flyer offense with five hits in seven at bats on the day. She went 2-for-4 against Toledo and was a perfect 3-for-3 against Indiana State.

Jessica Weaver worked her first complete game of the season, tallying a season-high five strikeouts against Indiana State

Kyle Davidson scored two runs and stole two bases for the Flyers on Friday
NOTABLE
Trailing Toledo 6-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, Dayton put together a seventh-inning rally, battling to stay in the game. The Flyers scored three runs on the strength of three consecutive singles to cut the lead to one but were unable to overcome the deficit.
