DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is heading to the nation's capital this weekend for a three-game Atlantic 10 series at George Washington April 27-28. The Flyers and Colonials will play two on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a single game Sunday at 12 p.m. The series will be played at GW Softball Field.
About Dayton
Dayton (21-22, 8-4 A-10) dropped two games to visiting Toledo Wednesday in its midweek doubleheader at UD Softball Stadium. The Flyers came from behind to force an extra inning in game one before falling, 7-5, then the Rockets took the nightcap, 9-2. Scouting the Colonials
George Washington (35-14, 11-6 A-10) swept a three-game conference series at St. Bonaventure April 18-19 and the Colonials have won five of their last six A-10 games. GW boasts the league's best team batting average (.359) on the strength of 492 hits (1st A-10). The Colonials are led by Sierra Lange with a .439 average (1st A-10) and a team-best 75 hits (1st A-10).
Series Stuff
The Flyers and Colonials have previously met 34 times in the all-time series between the two programs and UD holds a 21-13 advantage. The pair squared off a total of five times in 2018, including twice in the A-10 Championship. Dayton eliminated George Washington from post-season play on May 10, 2018 with a 4-3 win in the tourney.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2019 season posted on April 21, Dayton came in at 197 according to NCAA.com. George Washington was ranked 152.

Sophomore
Abby Ehrenborg leads the team and ranks second in the A-10 with 45 RBI this season. Ehrenborg has posted 10 multiple-RBI games in 2019 including five RBI against Kennesaw State on Feb. 16 at the Chattanooga Classic. Ehrenborg was named to the All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie Team following her freshman season for her play primarily as designated player.

As a team, Dayton is 74-95 in stolen bases on the season - the 74 stolen bases ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and has already surpassed last season's total of 63. The Flyers' 1.72 SB/game ranks 27th nationally. Senior
Kyle Davidson leads the Flyers on the base paths with a career-high 19 stolen bases (2nd A-10) on the season. Senior
Lisa Tassi has stolen 16 bases (3rd A-10), also a career high, while sophomore
