Bowling Green, Ohio -- The University of Dayton baseball team fell to Bowling Green on Wednesday by a score of 12-8. The loss drops the Flyers record to 14-13-1, while Bowling Green improved its record to 10-14 with the victory.
Eddie Pursinger hit his team-high fifth home run of the season and had three RBI, while
Benjamin Blackwell followed up his 4-for-4 performance on Tuesday with a multi-RBI effort at the plate, driving in a pair of runners.

Bowling Green jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first two innings, which proved too large a deficit to come back from. A three-run home run from
Eddie Pursinger cut the lead all the way down to three with the score at 10-7 in the top of the seventh, but the Falcons added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the frame to keep the Flyers at bay.

Eddie Pursinger and Marcos Pujols both reached on walks, then moved into scoring position on a balk. Benjamin Blackwell drove in Pursinger and Pujols with a two-out single up the middle.Â

Dylan Keller got the first two batters of the inning out, but Bowling Green still managed to do damage in the inning with Anthony Smith singling to right field and Gama Martinez doubling to send Smith across home.
Bottom 6: Bowling Green 10, Dayton 3
Three hits to open the inning resulted in two more runs for Bowling Green, as Ty Suntken singled to right and Mike Malewitz doubled to put a pair of baserunners aboard for the Falcons. Dylan Dohanos singled up the middle to drive both runners home and push the lead back to seven.
Top 7: Bowling Green 10, Dayton 7
The Flyers loaded the bases with no outs on no hits, as Michael Cleary and Connor Echols walked, while Takahiro Yamada was hit by a pitch. Riley Tirotta picked up an RBI with a sac fly to drive in Cleary and Eddie Pursinger sent the rest of them home with a three-run bomb to right field.
Bottom 7: Bowling Green 12, Dayton 7
Dayton nearly got out of the inning with no damage done, but a two-out, bases loaded single from Mike Malewitz to center drove in a pair of runners. The Falcons loaded the bases on a single, a hit by pitch and a walk.
Top 8: Bowling Green 12, Dayton 8
The Flyers loaded the bases for the second consecutive inning (Tate Hagan walk, Michael Cleary hit by pitch, Takahiro Yamada walk), but this time could only manage one run on a Connor Echols sacrifice fly. Jay Curtis nearly went yard with a three-run home run, but the fly ball was caught at the warning track for the last out of the frame.

- Jay Curtis extended his hitting streak to seven games with a 1-for-5 performance at the plate, tying Mitchell Garrity for the team's longest active streak.
