Big Apple Next Stop For #UDSB For Three At Fordham

Dayton And Fordham Set To Play Three A-10 Games April 6-7

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will be spending its weekend in the Big Apple for a three-game Atlantic 10 set at Fordham April 6-7. The Flyers and Rams are set to play two on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m. followed by a single game Sunday, also at 12 p.m. All games will be played at Bahoshy Softball Complex on Fordham's campus in the Bronx.

About Dayton
Dayton (17-16, 5-1 A-10) picked up two wins over Morehead State Wednesday at home in a non-conference doubleheader. The Flyers have won three straight and five of their last six games to get back above .500 for the season. UD is led by senior Lisa Tassi with a .379 average (5th A-10) and 38 hits (t-5th A-10) to go with 15 stolen bases (3rd A-10). Senior Kyle Davidson has also tallied 38 hits, carries a .365 average and leads the league with 19 stolen bases. Senior Jessica Gilliam, the reigning A-10 Pitcher of the Week, holds the team's low ERA of 3.21 (8th A-10) and has recorded 70 strikeouts (t-3rd A-10) in the circle for Dayton.

Scouting the Rams
Fordham (11-19, 4-2 A-10) went 2-1 at George Mason last weekend and is in third place in Atlantic 10 standings heading into Saturday's games. As a team, the Rams have hit out 26 home runs (2nd A-10) led by Molly Roark with a team-high nine long balls. Maria Trivelpiece is hitting at .333 while Roark has batted in 24 RBI (t-5th A-10).

Series Stuff
Over the last 23 years, Dayton and Fordham have squared off 53 times with the Rams enjoying a slim 28-25 margin in the series. Fordham is currently enjoying a seven-game winning streak against Dayton.

RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2019 season posted on March 31, Dayton came in at 181 according to NCAA.com, up 30 slots from last week. Fordham was ranked 208.

Catch Me If You Can
As a team, Dayton is 65-for-80 in stolen bases on the season - the 65 stolen bases ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and has already surpassed last season's total of 63. The Flyers' 1.97 SB/game ranks 19th nationally. Senior Kyle Davidson leads the Flyers on the base paths with 18 stolen bases (t-1st A-10) on the season. Senior Lisa Tassi has stolen 15 bases (3rd A-10) while sophomore Briley Sidor has collected seven stolen bases. With her 40 career stolen bases, Davidson ranks fifth all-time in the Dayton record book.

Sophomore Abby Ehrenborg leads the team and ranks third in the A-10 with 30 RBI this season. Ehrenborg has posted six multiple-RBI games in 2019 including five RBI against Kennesaw State on Feb. 16 at the Chattanooga Classic. Ehrenborg was named to the All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie Team following her freshman season for her play primarily as designated player.
