Emily Borchers Advances To NCAA Championships In The 3000m Steeplechase

Borchers Finished 10th At The NCAA East Prelims In A School-Record Time of 10:08.39

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt junior Emily Borchers broke her own record and qualified for the 2019 Outdoor Track and Field NCAA National Championships in the 3000-meter Steeplechase at the NCAA East Preliminaries tonight at Hodges Stadium.

Borchers finished fourth in her heat with a school-record time of 10:08.39, which was 10th best overall.
 
The top three from each heat, plus the next best three times – for 12 total – advanced to Austin, Texas June 5-9 for the NCAA Championships.

Senior Allison Triskett closed out a remarkable season at the regional. She finished 43rd in 10:45.40 and sophomore Kelly Wilker was 45th in 10:53.82.
