NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its pairings for the upcoming 2019-20 women's basketball season.
The University of Dayton women's program will play a 16-game schedule featuring contests against every conference team at least once and three opponents twice.
The Flyers are paired with the following teams:
Home – St. Bonaventure, Duquesne, George Mason, Rhode Island, VCU, Saint Louis, Fordham, George Washington
Away – Saint Joseph's, La Salle, Richmond, Davidson, Massachusetts, Saint Louis, Fordham, George Washington
Dayton will play Saint Louis, Fordham, and George Washington both home and away this season.
"I look forward to another challenging conference schedule," said head coach
Shauna Green. "Playing George Washington, Fordham, and Saint Louis twice is always tough, but that is what we want as a program."
The Flyers are coming off a 17-14 season overall and a 10-6 A-10 mark which saw them enter the conference tournament as the No. 4 seed. Dayton defeated La Salle at home in the opening round before advancing to defeat Davidson in the quarterfinals and falling to No. 1 seed VCU in the semifinals. UD was 13-1 at home last year as well.
After a season in which Dayton had some difficulty on the road, the Flyers went 10-3 against teams they will face away this season. The more challenging games based off last year's matchups will be played at UD Arena, a place the Flyers have gone 33-5 in Coach Green's tenure.
The 2020 Atlantic 10 Championships will be hosted by the University of Dayton at UD Arena as well on March 6-8.
