Coach Ordway's Comments
Day 2

" Day 2 was another successful outing for us as a team. We had several more strong individual performances with top 3 finishes in the high jump, mile, shot put, and 3000," said UD head coach Jason Ordway. "We also had a nice balance between both the event groups and between upperclassmen and underclassmen. With the very young group we're currently fielding, this was season of growth and maturation for us. We had quite a few performances that came up just shy of scoring or making the final rounds. We'll be looking to improve on that during outdoor and the years to come."
Day 1 Highlights
  • Senior Emily Borchers won silver in the 5000m run in a UD record time of 16:26.13. The gold went to Suzanne Dannheim of George Washington who broke an A-10 Championship and Mackal Fieldhouse facility record with her time of 16:20.52. Borchers broke her own school record by 13 seconds.
  • Sophomore Taylor Robertson won silver in the pole vault with a PR height of 3.76m. Freshman Carolyn Bakx was fourth in the event with a clearance of 3.35m.
  • Junior Taylor Flight was fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 17.40m.
  • The Flyers were sixth in the distance medley relay of Katie Miller, Malana Johnson, Emily Sreenan, and Kelly Wilker.
  • The Flyers had 11 PRs on day one.
Coach Ordway's Comments
Day 1

"We had a great opening day at the Atlantic 10 Championships. We came away with All-conference honors in the pole vault and 5000m with second place finishes from Taylor Robertson and Emily Borchers. Borchers also came away with a big PR and new school record," said Ordway. "We had additional scorers in the pole vault, weight throw, pentathlon, and distance medley relay, showing we are contributing from every event group on the first day of competition. We have a few more marquee events on day two so we'll be looking to bounce back for another strong day of competition."
