#UDSB To Play Midweek Double At Morehead State Wednesday

Flyers Looking To Extend Win Streak Over Eagles To Seven Games

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is scheduled to make a trip to Morehead, Kentucky, Wednesday for a midweek doubleheader at Morehead State. First pitch between the Flyers and the Eagles is set for 1 p.m. at MSU's University Field.

About Dayton
Dayton (6-12) split its games at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational last weekend after the schedule was shortened due to weather. As a team, the Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in double plays per game (0.39), doubles (22) and shutouts (2) and UD ranks second in the league with 0.83 home runs/game. Dayton's offense is led by senior Mallory Kimmell who carries a .388 average on a team-best 19 hits while junior Abby Ehrenborg leads the team in extra base hits with five doubles and six home runs. In the circle, senior Jessica Weaver (5-4) holds the team's low ERA of 4.24 while freshman Sarah Bailitz (1-5) has tallied a team-high 43 strikeouts.

Scouting Morehead State
Morehead State (6-8) is coming off back-to-back five-inning wins over Ohio Chillicothe on March 4 after coming off a 1-3 weekend at the Hampton Classic Feb. 29-March 1. The Eagles' Alexis Strother leads the team with 16 hits and boasts the squad's best average of .444. Randi Hamilton (3-4, 7.98 ERA) is MSU's go-to pitcher - she has worked a team-high 33.1 innings over 11 appearances.

Morehead State leads, 30-27-1
Dayton and Morehead State last squared off on April 3, 2019, a doubleheader hosted by the Flyers. UD picked up two wins over MSU and Dayton has won five straight in the series that dates back to 1985.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) posted on March 9, Dayton came in at 114 according to NCAA.com. Morehead State ranks 289.

Junior Abby Ehrenborg set a new Dayton single-season RBI mark in 2019 with 49 and she currently ranks sixth all-time with 93 career RBI. For the season, Ehrenborg has knocked in 10 runs on 17 hits.

Senior right-handed pitcher Jessica Weaver broke into the Dayton top 10 for career strikeouts at the end of last season and is starting to move up the ranks. For her career, Weaver has struck out 204 batters, ranking her ninth all-time in program history.
