Volleyball 2020 Class Named Highest Honorable Mention by PrepVolleyball.com

The 2020 University of Dayton Volleyball Recruiting Class Is Attracting National Attention

DAYTON – The newest recruiting class for University of Dayton volleyball is attracting national attention. The recruiting class of 2020 was selected by PrepVolleyball.com as "Highest Honorable Mention".

With the help and input of coaches at all levels from around the country, PrepVolleyball.com is presenting the top recruiting classes of 2020.

"We agonized over several programs making the top 30 that narrowly missed the cut, but have terrific classes – Dayton, Georgia, Mississippi, N.C. State, San Diego, Tennessee, UCSB, UNC, and Washington all received votes to crack the rankings and could be considered the Top 39," said a PrepVolleyball.com ranking committee member.

These student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent and committed to joining the Flyer family prior to the 2020 season:
  • Lexie Almodovar - 5-8 libero/outside hitter from Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville
  • Ktyal Price - 6-1 middle blocker from Minnetonka, Minn./ Hopkins
  • Lindsey Winner - 6-2 middle blocker from Versailles, Ohio/Versailles
  • Anna Wuensch - 5-6 defensive specialist/libero from Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard
  • Alayna Yates - 6-6 middle blocker from Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls

"We believe we are bringing in another impactful class with players that will continue to make us a better team and program," said Dayton head coach Tim Horsmon. "Beyond the skill and athleticism that this group possesses, I think the thing that stands out the most is the character of this group.

"We have players that love the game, have a great work ethic, and I think will be great people and teammates," he added. "We're excited to get them in the fold as soon as possible."

Some of the accolades of this group include, but are not limited to: 1,000+ and 1,800+ kills in their career, 1,600+ career digs, three Top 250 PrepVB selections, an AAU All-American, an Under Armour All-American, two-time state champion, and a USA National Champion.

The Flyers also added Mahalia Swink, a graduate transfer from Alabama, for the 2020 campaign. The 6-1 outside/right side hitter is a native of Bakersfield, Calif. was a member of the 2015 18's Silver Division Olympic National Championship team and the 2014 18's Division Jr. Olympic National Championship team.

The 2019 Flyers made the program's 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament after claiming their league-record 13th Atlantic 10 Championship title.
