DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will travel to George Washington Wednesday for a rare day game in Atlantic 10 play, with a 1 p.m. start at GW Soccer Field. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton was able to get back in the win column this past weekend after a six-game winless streak. The Flyers now sit in seventh in the A-10 standings with a 1-1 league mark and have a 4-5-2 record overall. Dayton is 0-4 away from home this season and will look to change that Wednesday.
Head coach
Dennis Currier is in his 17th year at the helm of the Flyers and the reigning Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year. UD replaces just one starter from last year's team that went on to win the A-10 regular season title with a 4-1-1 conference mark.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 1.55 goals per game and allowing 1.91 goals to opponents. Dayton is being out-shot 15.2 to 13.1 each contest as well.
Leading the way for the Flyers is senior
Kingsford Adjei with four goals and three assists for a team-high 11 points, sixth in the A-10. Junior
Forster Ajago has chipped in four goals and an assist while leading the Flyers with 21 shot attempts. Sophomore goalkeeper
Marc Kouadio has 45 saves in 11 starts this campaign.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington hosts Dayton with a 3-7-1 record on the season and 1-2 A-10 mark. The Colonials are on a two-game losing skid and have a 2-3 record at home so far. GW's lone conference win came on the road at Fordham on Sept. 25.
Head coach Craig Jones is in his 10th season with the Colonials and a former A-10 Coach of the Year in 2015. He boasts 56 career victories for his alma mater.
As a team, the Colonials are scoring just 1.09 goals per outing and giving up 1.45 goals to opposing squads. GW is outshooting opponents 12.7 to 9.8, but at a lower clip, allowing a .509 percentage to opposing teams.
The Colonials are led by Oscar Haynes Brown with four goals and one assist while Tom Cooklin has two assists and four goals in just seven games.
LAST OUTING
Dayton earned its first Atlantic 10 victory of the season with a 4-2 win over UMass at home Saturday. The Flyers tied the game up in the 72nd minute with a goal from
Andy Sanchez before
Elias Harryson scored the gamewinner in the 85th minute. Geni Kanyan added an extra goal just four minutes later.
GW dropped a 2-0 decision at home to Saint Joseph's Saturday. A pair of second half goals, including one in the first minute doomed the Colonials in a game the Hawks controlled throughout.
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and George Washington have played 19 times previously with the Flyers picking up nine wins and the Colonials having five victories. In the last meeting in 2019, UD came out on top 2-1 in the season finale at Baujan Field.
Kingsford Adjei and
Elias Harryson were on the scoresheet for the Flyers.

Senior midfielder
Kingsford Adjei was named to the Senior CLASS Award Top 30 candidates list for his excellence in four areas: character, classroom, community, and competition. The Ghana native is the lone A-10 representative for the prestigious honor, which will be announced during the NCAA National Championship.
