#UDWSOC Continues Conference Play At St. Bonaventure

The Flyers And Bonnies Play Sunday, March 21 at Noon

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (3-3-1 overall, 0-1-1 A-10) will travel to Olean, N.Y. for its next Atlantic 10 match against St. Bonaventure (0-2-0 overall, 0-2-0 A-10). Kickoff is Sunday, March 21 at 12 p.m. ET at Marra Athletics Complex.

 • The match is scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+

THE SERIES
• The Flyers lead the all-time series 18-1-2 over St. Bonaventure.
• In the last meeting vs. SBU, UD won 1-0 on the road on Oct. 3, 2019. Alexis Goins scored the game-winner in the 17th minute with assists from Laney Huber and Audrey Steiert
• Dayton's lone loss to the Bonnies came in 2010. The Flyers suffered a 2-1 road loss on Oct. 24, 2010.
• The two draws also came on the road; 1-1 in 2003 and 0-0 in 2007.
• The Flyers are on a six-match winning streak vs. the Bonnies.

FLYER FACTS
• Dayton closed out non-conference play with a 1-0 loss to Louisville via a PK, on March 6 at Baujan Field, finishing with a 3-2-0 record going into league play.
• The Flyers are 0-1-1 in Atlantic 10 play with both matches going to double overtime. UD opened the A-10 campaign with a double overtime 1-1 draw at Duquesne. Freshman Madison Wilson scored in the match for Dayton. UD's next match was a 3-2 double overtime loss to defending champion Saint Louis on March 18 in Dayton's conference home opener. Freshman Itala Gemelli scored both the goals for the Flyers. 
• Prior to the 1-1 double overtime tie at Duquesne Sunday, March 14, Dayton's last A-10 regular season match was Oct. 27, 2019, a 3-2 loss at La Salle.  When the Flyers took on the Dukes it marked 504 days since UD's last conference match.
• UD leads the A-10 in shots (88).
• This season the Flyers are averaging 1.29 goals per game in the seven matches this season. Eight of the nine goals have come from UD freshmen this season: Itala Gemelli leads Dayton with four goals. Madison Wilson has two goals, and Diana Benigno and Mia Perri each have one goal. Senior Kara Camarco scored the game-winning goal in UD's 1-0 victory over Marshall on Feb. 28.
• Sophomore Jessica Sheldon leads the Flyers with five assists. Fellow sophomore Laney Huber and Audrey Steiert each have two assists. Freshmen Benigno and Wilson have one assist each, and sophomore Marlee Taylor also has one assist to her credit.
• Freshman Itala Gemelli leads UD in points with eight (4 goals), shots (17), and shots on goal (9). 
• UD returns eight starters from a squad that went 7-9-3 overall and 5-3-2 in conference play in 2019. Dayton was 1-7-2 in matches not played at Baujan Field in 2019, and 6-2-1 at home.
• The six Flyers who have started every match this season are freshmen (Itala Gemelli, Katie Houck, Madison Wilson) and sophomores (Mackenzie Lutz, Jessica Sheldon, Audrey Steiert).
• Sophomore defender Mackenzie Lutz leads all Flyers with 648 minutes played.
• Sophomore Madelyn Dewey earned her first collegiate start vs. Louisville (March 6) and also started in the two conference matches. In the other four matches she came off the bench to start the second half. Dewey is 3-2-1 on the season with 23 saves.
• Head coach Eric Golz is in his fourth season at the helm of the Flyers. He previously served as an assistant at UD in 2011.

SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
• St. Bonaventure is 0-2-0 this season, its lone action in two Atlantic 10 matches. A 1-0 double overtime loss to Saint Louis in their opener (the Billikens scored the golden goal with 5.6 seconds remaining in the match) and a 1-0 loss to Duquesne.

• The Flyers host Duquesne Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m. ET at Baujan Field.
