DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will host the 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Championship this weekend starting with the No. 1 seed Flyers vs. No. 4 seed George Washington in the first semifinal. Kickoff will be at 12 p.m. at Baujan Field.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and followed by the other semifinal of Saint Louis and Fordham at 4 p.m.
Based on campus and local COVID-19 protocols and capacity restrictions, Dayton home athletic events will not be open to the general public.
Limited seating is available to guests of Dayton student-athletes (names must be on a pass list for admission). Currently, visiting team fans are not permitted in/at the facility.
Additionally, attendance at Dayton home athletic events will be socially distanced and fans are required to wear masks.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers enter the postseason as the regular season champions after going 4-3-1 on the year and 4-1-1 in A-10 play. Dayton is unbeaten in the last five games and is 2-1-1 at home this season.

Dennis Currier is in his 16th season at the helm of the Flyers, totaling 156 victories, the most in UD history.
Overall, Dayton is scoring 2.50 goals per game and holding opponents to 1.38 goals each outing. The Flyers have outscored opposing teams 11-1 over the last two outings and lead the nation in shot attempts. UD is also ninth in scoring offense in DI.

Marc Kouadio is 21st in the country with 39 saves and has 1.30 goals against average.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington opens its postseason with a 4-2-2 record on the year and 3-1-2 A-10 mark. The Colonials are 1-2-1 on the road this season and has just one loss in their last six games.
Head coach Craig Jones is in his ninth season at GW. He last led the Colonials to a regular season title in 2015, the same year the Flyers won the A-10 Championship tournament.
The Colonials are a strong defensive team, holding opponents to 0.63 goals per game and scoring 1.13 goals each outing, ranking 14th in the nation in goals against average. GW matches its opponents at around 10.0 shots per game.
The Colonials' offense is led by Oscar Haynes Brown with five goals on the year, including a brace last outing. Tom Cooklin is the main distributor with four assists to go with one goal. Goalkeeper Justin Grady has given up just five goals all year and has 30 saves and three shutouts.
THE SERIES
Dayton and GW have met 19 times previously with the Flyers winning nine times, the Colonials winning five, and five draws. The last meeting took place in 2019 with UD coming out on top 2-1 at home.
LAST OUTING
Dayton powered its way to a 6-0 victory over St. Bonaventure last Saturday to earn the A-10 title. Toluwalase Oladienbo had two goals in the game while Adjei added a goal and two assists.
Josh Darius also scored a pair.
GW earned a 4-0 victory at Davidson to end the season, with a pair of goals in each half. Oscar Haynes Brown had two goals with Tom Cooklin chipping in two assists.
DAYTON WINS A-10 REGULAR SEASON TITLE
With a 6-0 victory in the regular season final, the Flyers won the A-10 title outright and became the hosts and No. 1 seed in the A-10 Championship tournament. It is their eighth A-10 title overall and fourth regular season championship.
FLYERS IN POSTSEASON PLAY
Dayton has played 31 previous A-10 Championship games with a 15-10-5 record overall and four titles. Their last tournament title was back in 2015 where they went on to advance to the first round of the NCAA tournament before falling to Ohio State. In a play-in game at Baujan Field, UD defeated Oakland on penalty kicks.
FJELDBERG DRAFTED BY F.C. CINCINNATI
Dayton senior
Jonas Fjeldberg was recently drafted in the 2021 MLS Superdraft by F.C. Cincinnati with the 54th pick overall in the second round. He will join up with the team after the completion of his senior campaign.
INTERNATIONAL FLAIR
Dayton has been known to have numerous international players and this year is no different. The Flyers' roster contains eight international players from the countries of Sweden, Ghana, Norway, Nigeria, Bosnia, and South Africa.

FJELDBERG EARNS A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dayton senior
Jonas Fjeldberg was named A-10 Player of the Week on April 5 after scoring two goals and adding two assists the previoius week. It was the first A-10 honor for Fjeldberg this season.
RECAPPING THE 2019 SEASON
Dayton last competed in the fall of 2019 and went 13-8 overall and 6-2 in A-10 play. The Flyers got hot late and won five games in a row to take them all the way to the A-10 Championship game before eventually falling to Rhode Island in the final.
