#UDSB Returns Home For Four-Game Set Against George Mason

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will return home this weekend for a four-game Atlantic 10 series with visiting George Mason. The Flyers and Patriots will square off in back-to-back doubleheaders at UD Softball Stadium Saturday and Sunday with first pitch set for 12 p.m. ET both days.

SCOUTING GEORGE MASON
George Mason (14-8, 9-7 A-10), currently in second place in the Central division standings, is coming off a 1-3 weekend at Saint Louis April 9-11. The Patriots took the Billikens to 15 innings in game one before falling 5-4, claimed game two, 4-2, but dropped the final two games of the series, 2-0 and 5-1. The Mason offense is led by Rachel Warrens (.375), one of five Patriots hitting at .300 or above, with a team-high 27 hits and 15 RBI while. As a team, George Mason is 50-for-59 in stolen bases led by Saige Cisler who is a perfect 9-for-9. In the circle, Bekah Ansbro (6-3) carries the team's low ERA of 2.48 with a team-high 77 strikeouts.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (11-21, 6-6 A-10) is currently battling through an eight-game losing streak including a 1-0 loss at Butler on Wednesday. The Flyers are in third place in the A-10 Central standings and looking to get back into the win column this weekend. Dayton freshman Megan Ward paces the offense with a .404 average on the strength of 44 hits and has scored a team-best 18 runs while senior Abby Ehrenborg (.308) has tallied 32 hits, including a team-high 11 home runs, and has collected 27 RBI on the season. Freshman Addy Bullis (6-6) leads the Flyer pitching corps with a team-low 2.19 ERA and a team-best 59 strikeouts.

ATLANTIC 10 FORMAT
The Atlantic 10 will be divided into two divisions with five teams in each regionally-based pod. Dayton will be competing in the central division which also features George Mason, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis and George Washington. The north division is made up of Fordham, La Salle, Saint Joseph's, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Also new to the 2021 Atlantic 10 schedule is that conference series have moved from three to four-game series, featuring doubleheaders each day of the two-day series.

ATTENDANCE AT UD SOFTBALL STADIUM
Based on campus and local COVID-19 protocols and capacity restrictions, Dayton home athletic events will not be open to the general public. Limited seating is available to guests of Dayton student-athletes (names must be on a pass list for admission). Currently, visiting team fans are not permitted in/at the facility. Additionally, attendance at Dayton home athletic events will be socially distanced and fans are required to wear masks.
