NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly awards for men's soccer and recognized University of Dayton senior
Jonas Fjeldberg as the A-10 Player of the Week.
Fjeldberg led the Flyers to first place in the A-10 with two goals and two assists in the 5-1 victory over Duquesne Saturday. The Norway native was recognized pregame for senior day before going on to power the Flyers in their third A-10 win. He totaled six shots, all on goal, and now ranks in the top 10 in the league in goals and assists. Last season, Fjeldberg was named A-10 Offensive Player of the Year.
This is the first weekly honor for Fjeldberg this season.
Dayton as a team is atop the A-10 standings overall and in the west division with a 3-1-1 league mark.
The Flyers finish up the regular season on Saturday at St. Bonaventure with a shot at hosting the A-10 Championships as the top seed on the line.
