DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's soccer program and head coach
Dennis Currier have announced the full 2021 schedule.
The upcoming season will feature three exhibition games including two home games as part of the preseason against Bellarmine (Aug. 20) and Wabash (Aug. 22).
The Flyers will open the regular season at the Ohio State Tournament in Columbus with contests against UAB (Aug. 27) and Memphis (Aug. 29).
The home opener for UD will be on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. against Incarnate Word. That will open a three-game home stand which also features Detroit (Sept. 6) and Western Michigan (Sept. 10).
Dayton will then head out on the road for three of the next four with games at Oakland (Sept. 14), at West Virginia (Sept. 21), and the Atlantic 10 opener at VCU (Sept. 25), with a home game against UMKC (Sept. 18) thrown in there.
The final non-conference match-up features Kentucky (Sept. 29) at Baujan Field.
The Flyers then enter the thick of the conference slate with home league games against UMass (Oct. 2), Rhode Island (Oct. 9), St. Bonaventure (Oct. 23) and the season finale against Duquesne (Oct. 30).
The remaining away contests for UD in A-10 play will take place at George Washington (Oct. 6), Saint Louis (Oct. 16), and Davidson (Oct. 20).
The A-10 Championship will begin on Nov. 6-7 with the quarterfinals on campus sites. The semifinals and finals will take place at the top remaining seed's home field.
Dayton is coming off the 2021 spring season in which it won the A-10 regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the A-10 Championship tournament. The Flyers return an experience squad having graduated just three seniors from last year.
The A-10 preseason teams and poll will be announced prior to the start of the season.
