FINDLAY, OHIO – The University of Dayton women's track and field team opened the early portion of the season on Thursday and Friday, as they competed in the Findlay Oiler Open.

The Flyers finished fifth overall in the scored event, with only a select number of athletes competing in the early season meet.

Newcomer
Raegan Ernst highlighted the opening night of the meet, finishing seventh in the indoor pentathlon, including an overall victory in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.24.

Keelin Kelly was one of just two field event performers of day two, as her and
Rayana Burns competed in the women's high jump. Burns did not score in the event, but sophomore
Keelin Kelly placed sixth overall, clearing a height of 1.52m.

Junior
Lauren Santiago was the highest finisher in the running events of day two for Dayton, finishing third overall in the finals of the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.66. Fellow junior
Chloe Keating had a strong day in the running events as well, finishing 11
th in the 200 meter dash, with a time of 27.14. She also went on to finish fourth in the finals of the women's 60 meter dash, with a time of 8.02.

The Flyers will take the remainder of the 2022 calendar year off, before kicking the season into gear in January, beginning with the Falcon Early Bird Open on Jan. 14, hosted by Bowling Green State.
