HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The University of Dayton softball team touched down in Texas today ahead of the first day of play of the 2022 season. Dayton is set to take part in the Bearkat Classic hosted by Sam Houston Feb. 11-12 followed by a single game at Houston on Feb. 13.

This will be the second time in three years Dayton has participated in an event at Houston as it competed in the Cougars' Houston Classic the second weekend of the 2020 season.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton finished the 2021 season with a 21-26 overall mark and a 14-8 record in Atlantic 10 regular season action. The Flyers made the program's eighth-consecutive and 12th overall appearance in the 2021 A-10 Championship last season, finishing as the tournament's runner-up and placing five Flyers on the All-Championship Team. UD returns 2021 NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Third Team honoree senior Alyssa Cacini who ranked second on the team last year with 12 doubles, eight home runs and 33 RBI.
