KENT, OHIO ā The University of Dayton women's track and field team opened up day one of competition Friday in the Doug Raymond Invitational on the campus of Kent State University. The Flyers had a quality showing in day one, winning two events outright, and finishing top-four in several events.

Lainey Studebaker lead things off for the Flyers, winning the 5000m outright with a 16:41.19, a personal best for the grad student from Dayton, and a top-3 all time mark in the indoor record books for UD. In the overall weight throw event,
Taylor Flight finished second overall, with a throw of 17.54m. In the final event that the Flyers participated in on the evening, ChantéĀ Clinkscale broke her own record in the 200m dash, winning the event overall with a final time of 24.22.
Kaira Granger also placed fourth in the 200m, with a personal best time of 25.10, placing her third all-time in the indoor record book.

The Flyers will finish competition in the Doug Raymond Invitational on Saturday, with field events getting underway at 11:00 a.m., and track events to commence at 12:00 p.m. from Kent State Field House.
