DAYTON – University of Dayton women's golf head coach
Ali Green has announced the addition of four to the Flyers' roster for the 2022-23 season. Ally Madden (Mason, Ohio/William Mason), Lilly Middleton (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington), Christina Pfefferkorn (Carmel, Ind./Guerin Catholic) and Emma Sparling (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) have committed to academic and athletic careers at University of Dayton.
"I am super excited to be adding these four young ladies to our program," commented Green. "Each and every one of them is going to add something very special to our team dynamic. I am thrilled to get to work with them and see what they can accomplish during their time at Dayton."
Madden earned four varsity letters at Mason High School under head coach Chad Layton and is set to graduate this May. A four-time member of the Greater Miami Conference First Team, Madden was named the GMC Division I Golfer of the Year in 2021. A three-time OHSAA Division I Southwest Second Team member, Madden was named to the District First Team following her senior season. She helped lead her team to four OHSAA Sectional titles, claiming medalist honors in 2020 and 2021.
A four-year varsity player at Wilmington High School under head coach Patrick Black, Middleton earned mention of the Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference First Team four years in a row. The 2020 & 2021 SBAAC Player of the Year also earned All Southwest Ohio District First Team honors following the 2021 season and was named to the 2020 Cincinnati Enquirer First Team. Middleton is a four-time Wilmington High School Scholar Athlete and three-time member of the National Honor Society.
Pfefferkorn played four varsity seasons at Guerin Catholic High School under the direction of head coach Mark Mathews. The senior team captain picked up All-Circle City Conference honors four consecutive years and helped lead the Golden Eagles to four straight CCC Championship titles. Pfefferkorn posted a 75 scoring average during her senior season, earning medalist honors eight times. The 2020 All-State Team member was the first athlete at Guerin Catholic to make it to the state tournament all four years.
Sparling played her prep career at Dublin Jerome High School under head coach Charles David Butcher. The two-time team captain helped lead the squad to four consecutive Ohio Capital Conference and sectional team titles. Sparling was named to the OCC First Team in 2019, 2020 and 2021, was a two-time member of the All Central Ohio Honorable Mention Team and earned mention on the All-Central Ohio Third Team in 2020 and 2021. The 2021 member of the All-Ohio Academic Team is also a three-time National Honors Society member.
