Men's Tennis Falls At Belmont

Flyers Lose 6-1 In First Outdoor Match Of 2022

Box Score NASHVILLE – The University of Dayton men's tennis team fell on the road at Belmont on Thursday afternoon 6-1 at Belmont Tennis Complex in Nashville. Senior Will Harper picked up the lone singles victory for the Flyers.
 
Dayton's four-match winning streak comes to an end, dropping the team's record to 10-6, while Belmont improves to 7-3.
 
The Flyers opened the match dropping the doubles point. Harper and junior Connor Bruce were tied 4-4 in No. 2 doubles, but Dayton fell on Courts One and Three to go down 1-0.
 
In their first outdoor match of the season, the Flyers were unable to get much going during singles play outside of Harper. The Bruins took the other five singles matches, with the Dayton senior winning in No. 4 singles over Jack Randall. Harper took the first set 7-5 and won the match 6-3 in set two.
 
The Flyers were scheduled to play outside at Lipscomb on Friday, but that match has been canceled due to anticipated inclement weather.
