Majick would go the next 3.1 innings, allowing just one run on three hits in his time on the mound. The lefty retired 10 of 14 batters he faced in his eighth appearance of the year.

Senior Jake Silverstein, junior Anthony Hattrup, junior Thomas Braybrooks, and sophomore Nick Wissman got through the next 1.2 innings collectively to get the Flyers into the sixth inning.

Junior Nate Espelin would go the next 1.1 innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out one. Freshman Michael Crossan would be the eighth and final pitcher in the game for Dayton, making his season debut. Crossan pitched the eighth and notched his first career strikeout in his inning of work, also allowing four runs on four hits.
