MARIETTA, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's rowing team opened up the 2022 spring season this last weekend in a regatta against Marietta College and Purdue University.
Due to poor weather and course conditions, the races were moved to Muskingum and reduced to 1,000-meters. Only first and second varsity eights were allowed to compete at as well.
"It was a good first race," said head coach Mike Wenker. "The river did not cooperate for the 2K so we ended up doing the 1K, but the team made the most of it. We are excited about the chance to race Duquesne this Saturday."
UD had strong performances in both events with a first-place by the 2V8+ boat and second-place finish by the V8+ group.

- Marietta – 3:09.43
2 Varsity 8+
- Dayton – 3:35.81
- Purdue Freshmen – 3:38.67
- Purdue 2V – 3:42.99
- Dayton Freshmen – 3:53.35
Dayton returns to action this Saturday, March 26 against Duquesne University at Eagle Creek in Indianapolis, Ind.
