CINCINNATI – The University of Dayton women's track and field team competed in the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on Friday and Saturday, a two-day event hosted by the University of Cincinnati. The Flyers found a wealth of success on Friday and Saturday, and coasted to a third-place overall finish among the 20 competing programs.

DAY 1
Friday's events consisted of only the women's javelin and women's hammer throw.
Luisa Himmler lead things off for the Flyers, winning her second overall title in three appearances this outdoor season in the javelin toss, setting a new PR with a toss of 39.06m, over 5m further than the next closest finisher.

DAY 2
In Saturday's field events, Christierra Williams finished eighth in the long jump with a finals mark of 5.29m.
Grace Homan finished fourth overall in the discus throw with a season-best mark of 44.47m. Williams also set a season-best mark in the triple jump, finishing third with a 11.91m distance.

On the track Saturday,
Zoe Chappelle set a new season-best in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing fourth with a 11:02.09 mark.
Lainey Studebaker continued her stellar senior campaign Saturday, winning the 1500m race with a career best time of 4:24.80, ranking her second all-time in the UD record book in the event. The freshman standout
Chante Clinkscale got another outright event win in the 100m, posting a finals time of 12.06 seconds. Studebaker also finished second overall in the 800m race, also ranking second all-time for UD with a final time of 2:10.13. Freshman
Kaira Granger set a new PR in the 200m Saturday afternoon, finishing third with a time of 24.72 seconds. Back on the distance side,
Abby Carter had a strong showing in the 5000m race, being the first Flyer across the line in second with a 17:04.43.

The Flyers will return to action in two weeks, as they will travel to Athens, Ohio for the Cherry Blossom Invitational, hosted by the Ohio Bobcats.
