DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is headed east to the nation's capital for a three-game Atlantic 10 series at
George Washington this weekend. Dayton will square off against the reigning A-10 regular season and tournament champions April 9-10 at GW Softball Field.
In a rematch of the 2021 A-10 Championship finals, the Flyers and Colonials will get the series underway Saturday with a noon start for a doubleheader. On Sunday, the pair will meet again at noon for a single game. Saturday's games will be streamed via ESPN+ and all three games will be available to follow via live stats.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington (19-10, 9-0) is currently enjoying a 13-game winning streak and sits atop A-10 rankings with an unblemished 9-0 mark in conference play. The Colonials picked up two mid-week wins over visiting Hampton Wednesday and collected a three-game sweep over league opponent St. Bonaventure March 25-26 in Olean, N.Y. Alessandra Ponce leads five Colonials hitting above .300 with her team-best average of .375 (6th A-10) while Alexa Williams (.372 - 7th A-10) has knocked in 29 RBI (2nd A-10). In the circle for GW, Sierra Lange (14-5) carries the team's low ERA of 3.07 (4th A-10), has worked 13 complete games and tallied a league-leading 117 strikeouts over 109.1 innings (2nd A-10).

Alyssa Cacini has knocked in a team-high 22 RBI (t-3rd A-10) and knocked out six home runs (t-3rd A-10). The Flyer pitching corps is led by current A-10 Pitcher of the Week senior
Kelsey Gumm (6-5) with a 2.10 ERA (1st A-10) and 71 strikeouts (4th A-10) over 70.0 innings pitched (7th A-10).
