Dayton’s Day, Caetano Receive A-10 Honors

The Duo Led Dayton To A Road Win At Rhode Island Last Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly men's soccer awards and recognized a pair of University of Dayton student-athletes for their accomplishments this past week.

Senior Manny Day was named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week while teammate and junior Dario Caetano was named A-10 Defensive Player of the Week.

Day scored the game-winning goal against Rhode Island last Saturday in a tough road matchup that saw the Flyers came out on top 2-0.

Caetano recorded a career-high seven saves and his fourth shutout of the season in goal for the Flyers. He has started all seven games in his debut season.

This is the first honor for both Flyers, who join teammates Andy Sanchez and Gabriel Kringen as A-10 recipients this year.

The Flyers return to action Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. against West Virginia at Baujan Field.
