BETHLEHEM, PA – The University of Dayton men's and women's cross country programs returned to action Friday, as they traveled to Lehigh University to compete in the Paul Short Run. In one of the largest cross country meets in the world, the Flyers finished in the top 40 teams on both the men's and women's side.

The 15
th ranked Great Lakes Regional women's team finished 40
th out of 46 competing teams, with junior
Abby Carter being the fastest finisher with a 6K time of 21:26.1.
Zoe Chappelle set a new college best 6K time, finishing the race with a 21:41.2 final time. Right behind Chappelle was
Melissa Weidner, who also set a new college best with a 21:42.6.

The Flyers men's program, ranked 14
th in the Great Lakes Region, finished 34
th overall out of the 46 competing teams.
Bryce Conley was the front-runner for the Flyers Friday, finishing the 8K race in 24:20.4, a new college best for the junior. Senior
Andrew Schuster finished just five seconds behind Conley, with a final time of 24:25.2.
Sam Duncan was the Flyers' final top-150 overall finisher, running the 8K race in 24:34.7.

The men's and women's programs will take a week off to prepare for the Falcon Invitational on Oct. 14. The event, hosted by Bowling Green State University, will be the Flyers' final tune-up before competing in the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships on Oct. 29.
