DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team and head coach
Ryan Meyer have announced the signing of Kaia Mendibe and Andreas Nygaard to National Letters of Intent on Monday, Nov. 13.

"I'm incredibly excited about Andreas and Kaia joining our program," said Meyer. "The incoming class of 2024 is one of the most important because we are graduating five key players. Both of these young men stood out as players who fit our culture and are willing to put in the work in order to reach their potential. I feel they will have an immediate impact upon arrival to Dayton.

Kaia Mendibe
The first future Flyer is Kaia Mendibe, a native of Springfield, Mass. During his prep career he has been ranked No. 1 in the New England region at the 12u, 14u and 16u levels. Mendibe earned a silver medal in doubles at the USTA National L2 18u ranks after winning a gold medal at the 16u level. He was also the USTA New England Sectionals winner in 2019.

"As I walked through the Dayton campus it felt like the right fit," said Mendibe. "The campus had a nice atmosphere and I could feel the sense of community. The coaches and team are motivated to work hard and improve every day and it feels like a family."

Andreas Nygaard
The second future Flyer is Oslo, Norway native Andreas Nygaard. He will come to Dayton after a decorated prep career, being part of the Norwegian National Team from 14u to 18u. Nygaard was the national outdoors singles runner-up in 2023 and part of the national indoor doubles champion pairing for 19u as well.
