BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -Â The University of Dayton baseball team had trouble finding its offensive groove Saturday, Feb. 18, falling to Western Kentucky 6-1 at Nick Denes Field in game two of the three-game series.
The #FlyBoys once again grabbed an early lead, scoring the game's first run in the second inning when junior
Paxton Tomaini was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on an error, and came home on a wild pitch. Despite having only two hits, Dayton created traffic on the base paths but was unable to pick up the clutch hit to turn it into runs on the scoreboard.
Western Kentucky tied the score at 1-1 with a single tally in the sixth, then exploded for five runs in the seventh to bring the game to its final score of 6-1.
