SCOUTING AKRON
Akron (16-19, 7-5 MAC) went 2-1 in a three-game MAC series at Bowling Green this past weekend and the Zips have a single game scheduled at home against Pittsburgh for Tuesday afternoon. Megan Lee (.425) leads Akron's offense with 51 hits and Brooke Sivek has scored 20 runs, drawn 20 walks and stolen 20 bases for the Zips. Macy Walters paces UA's pitching corps with a 3.56 ERA and 38 strikeouts over 20 appearances in the circle.
SERIES STUFF
Dayton leads, 13-11
While Akron dominated the first half of the series, played in the 80s and early 90s, Dayton has won three in a row and 12 of the last 13 meetings. The pair last squared off on March 8, 2020 at the EKU Invitational and the Flyers picked up a 2-1 win over the Zips.
RPI RANKINGS
In the NCAA's final Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on April 8, Dayton came in at 146 according to NCAA.com. Akron was ranked 217.
CAREER CRIMINALS
With two stolen bases in Dayton's first game against George Mason on March 16, graduate student
Emily Daniel became the program's career stolen base leader. Daniel, who spent her freshman season (2020) at Wright State, now has 72 career stolen bases over 178 games played as a Flyer, surpassing Molly Meyer (66) who previously held the record since 2010. Junior
Emma Schutter moved into Dayton's top 10 all-time stolen bases list last season as well and is only three behind Daniel in second place with 69 career stolen bases.

Izzy Kemp holds the program record for most strikeouts per seven-inning game at 8.39. For the 2024 season, her 2.19 ERA and .190 opposing batting average currently rank first in the Atlantic 10. The 2023 A-10 Rookie of the Year tallied 198 strikeouts and posted 9.0 strikeouts per seven innings last season, which ranked 24th in all of Division I.
