Marra Bruce Named 2nd Team All-Conferece; Hamilton All-Academic Team

Bruce And Hamilton Co-Led The Flyers With 16 Singles Wins

WASHINGTON D.C. – University of Dayton women's tennis freshman Marra Bruce and fifth-year Elizabeth Hamilton were honored by the Atlantic 10 Conference on Tuesday afternoon, earning All-Conference Second Team and All-Academic honors, respectively.

Bruce won 16 singles matches in her rookie campaign, including a 6-1 mark at No. 2 during dual play. The Pittsburgh, Pa. also added seven wins in doubles, six of which came at No. 2 during the spring season.

Bruce won Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week once during the season, and her second team honor marks the third consecutive season a Flyer freshman has earned the designation, joining sophomore Natalie Osiecki and junior Neena Katauskas in the honor.

Hamilton tied with Bruce for the team-high in singles wins in her final season for the Flyers, going 16-9 overall and a team-best 13-6 in dual action. The 16 singles wins were the best mark of the Union, Ky. native's career, while she also added seven wins on the doubles side. The A-10 All-Academic team is reserved for student-athletes who are above sophomore eligibility and are a significant contributor to the team with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
