Women's Soccer To Celebrate Seniors Ahead Of Match Sunday Against Richmond

Four Departing Players to be Recognized Pre-Match

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's soccer team will host Richmond Sunday in a midday Atlantic 10 matchup. Kickoff between the Flyers and Spiders is set for 12 p.m. Four departing team members will be celebrated prior to the match in during Senior Day festivities.

Sunday's match is also Bingo Day! Bingo winners will get a UD Drawstring Goody Bag filled with varying prizes.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (6-3, 0-1 A-10) dropped a 1-0 decision at Loyola Chicago Thursday night in both team's conference opener, snapping the Flyers' three-match winning streak. As a team, Dayton ranks first in the A-10 with 25 total goals (18 NCAA) and 7.11 corner kicks/game (21 NCAA). The Flyers' offense is led by senior Noel Blain with 13 points (6th A-10) on the strength of five goals (4th A-10) and three assists (7th A-10) while graduate student Diana Benigno has dished out five assists (2nd A-10, 16th NCAA) and freshman Liv Grenda also has five goals (4th A-10) on the season. In goal for UD, junior Batoul Reda has worked all 810 minutes this season between the posts. She carries a GAA of 1.33 with 22 saves on the year.

SCOUTING RICHMOND
Richmond (3-3-2, 1-0 A-10) claimed a 1-0 win over Duquesne at home on Thursday in the Spiders' conference opener. The win was UR's first since its 1-0 victory over Howard on Aug. 25. Kelly Hutton paces the Spiders' offense with two goals on 15 shots, five of which were on target. McKenna Dalfonso is Richmond's goalkeeper with a 0.88 GAA and 32 saves (6th A-10).

SERIES STUFF
Dayton Leads, 14-3-2
In a series that dates back to 2001, Dayton holds an eight-match unbeaten streak against Richmond. The last time the Spiders were able to best the Flyers was a 1-0 win in Richmond on Oct. 16, 2011. The pair last met Oct. 31, 2021 in an Atlantic 10 Tournament match at Baujan Field with Dayton claiming a 3-1 victory.

LYER FACTS
Eric Golz is in his eighth season as head coach of the Flyers in 2024. His record at Dayton is 78-48-16 (.606) and his career win-loss mark sits at 98-64-21 (.595) over a total of 10 seasons. Golz has tallied the program's second-most wins, behind Mike Tucker who had 313 wins over 22 seasons (1995-2016) at Dayton.
• Freshman Liv Grenda claimed the Atlantic 10's first Rookie of the Week honor on Aug. 19 after scoring her first collegiate goal in Dayton's 2-1 win at Loyola Maryland on opening day.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 11 times (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013). The Flyers have captured the A-10 Championship title 10 times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2016).
