DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's cross country team will be sending four athletes to the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana, to compete alongside the women's track and field team this weekend. The Flyers will compete in the mile, 3,000m and 5,000m. This will mark their first competition since the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 15, 2024.
START TIME
- Friday, the 5,000m will start at 7:10 p.m.
- Saturday, the mile is scheduled at 11:25 a.m. and the 3,000m at 1:10 p.m.

STARTING FLYERS
Jacob Herzog, from Liberty Township, Ohio, competed in all six races last fall for cross country and will make his track debut for Dayton on Friday in the 5,000m. The freshman finished the season with a personal best in the 10k at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships.Â
Jacob Finney, from Council Bluffs, Iowa, will compete in his first race at Dayton on Friday. The Freshman did not compete during the cross country season, but will make his collegiate debut in the 5,000m. Finney was part of a Nebraska State Championship in both cross country and track and field in 2023 at Creighton Prep.
Logan Arnold, from Xenia, Ohio, will make his collegiate debut in track in the mile and 3,000m on Saturday. The freshman competed in five races last fall and closed out the cross country season with a personal best at the Atlantic 10 Championships in the 8K (26:05.6).Â
Gerrit Dam, from Crystal Lake, Illinois, will run in both the mile and 3,000m on Saturday. The freshman competed in four races during the cross country season and ran a PR in his final race at the Bradley Pink Classic in the 8K (26:59.9).
