DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team kicks off the Atlantic 10 Championship with a home playoff game against La Salle on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field.
 
ABOUT DAYTON
The Flyers (13-3-2; 10-0-0) secured its first perfect Atlantic 10 season since 2004 with a victory on Sunday. Sophomores 
Liv Grenda and 
Laney Smith lead the team in total points (14 - 5 goals, 4 assists) on the season. Keeper 
Batoul Reda has an NCAA-leading 13 shutouts on the season and has 40 for her career, tied for 20th in NCAA Division I history.
 
SCOUTING LA SALLE
The Explorers (7-7-3; 4-4-2) finished the final six games of the regular season on a 2-2-2 streak, with their last win coming Oct. 16 over Fordham. Kayden Williams (4 goals, 5 assists), Alexis Garcia (5 goals, 2 assists), and Justyce Hollenbach (5 goals, 2 assists) lead the team in points. La Salle has relied on Mackenna Yaracs in net for the season, posting 4 shutouts and allowing 28 total goals while amassing 71 saves.
 
SERIES STUFF
Dayton holds the all-time edge over La Salle, but the Explorers have held the advantage over the last 10 meetings, posting a 5-4-1 mark. The Flyers beat La Salle earlier this season, 2-0, behind goals from 
Ella Raimondi and 
Caroline Schork and the fifth shutout of the campaign for 
Batoul Reda.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• Dayton women's soccer team capped a perfect Atlantic 10 season with a 2-0 win in the regular season finale at Rhode Island on Sunday.
• The win gives the Flyers its first perfect A-10 season since going 11-0 in 2004.
• UD opened the scoring when senior 
Karli Ferguson scored her first goal of the 2025 season in the 20th minute of action.
• Freshman 
Emery Newlin came through for the Flyers in the second half, scoring her first career goal in the 72nd minute after a run by fellow rookie 
Ky Hau-Golden set up the strike.
• The shutout marked the 13th on the season for keeper 
Batoul Reda and the Dayton defense, putting Reda in a tie for most single-season shutouts in program history.
 
ATLANTIC 10 REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS
• Dayton's victory on Thursday night gave the Flyers their first Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship since the 2013 season.
• The win also secures the top seed for the Atlantic 10 Championship, giving UD homefield advantage throughout the tournament.
• The Flyers have won more A-10 Championships than any other program since joining the league in 1995, having 12 regular season titles and 10 conference tournament titles.
 
PERFECTION
• UD's run through the 2025 Atlantic 10 schedule capped with a road victory at Rhode Island on Sunday, giving Dayton its first perfect A-10 run since 2004.
• It marked the third time in program history the Flyers have turned in an unblemished conference record, more than any other school in the Atlantic 10.
• The list of A-10 teams to win every match in a season is exclusive: Saint Louis (2018, 2005), George Washington (2015), La Salle (2014), Charlotte (2008), Dayton (2004, 2001) and Massachusetts (1997, 1994).
 
STREAKING!
• The Flyers currently hold the longest winning streak in all of NCAA Division I soccer, boasting 11 consecutive wins.
• College soccer's No. 1 team, Notre Dame, saw its win streak snapped by a tie last week, giving Dayton the honor.
 
CLIMBING THE RANKINGS
• Dayton has seen its name in the Top Drawer Soccer Top 25 for the last two weeks, coming in this week at No. 21.
• The Flyers were also receiving votes in this week's Coaches Poll for the first time in 2025, and are No. 28 in the most recent edition of RPI.
 
CLIMBING THE (STAT) RANKINGS
• Dayton's defense has been climbing the national rankings since conference play began. Not only do the Flyers rank No. 1 in goals against average in the conference, but they also rank sixth nationally.
• UD's shutout percentage is also among the country's elite, leading the A-10 and No. 2 in in Division I behind Tennessee.
• The Flyers' team save percentage of .877 ranks fourth-best in the NCAA.
 
BALANCED ATTACK
• The Flyers have had a balanced offensive attack all season long, and the numbers continue to prove the depth that UD boasts.
• Seven players have scored three or more goals this season, with 
Liv Grenda and 
Laney Smith each leading the team with five.
• Dayton has had nine players score at least two goals and 13 score in total this season.
 
REDA ROCKS
• Senior 
Batoul Reda continues to impress in her final season as a Flyers, registering her 13th shutout of the season in Sunday's 2-0 win at Rhode Island.
• Her 13 shutouts is tied for the program record set by Katherine Boone in 2009.
• Reda now has 40 career shutouts, giving her the most shutouts among active players in all of NCAA Division I women's soccer and placing her in 20th in DI history.
• This season, the Dearborn, Mich. native has a career-best in goals against average (.500) and has made 63 saves, the second-most in a single season for her career.
