ST. LOUIS – The Pioneer Football League announced its weekly awards and recognized University of Dayton student-athlete
Josh Williams for the first time this season.
Williams was named PFL Defensive Player of the Week after his efforts this past weekend in the big road win at Davidson College in the regular season finale.
The Dayton, Ohio native picked off two passes in the first quarter on Saturday, the first of which was returned 32 yards for the first score of the game. The redshirt sophomore got his second to set up Dayton's second TD. Williams returned his two interceptions a total of 47 yards. His six picks on the year are the most at Dayton since Brandon Easterling had six in 2019.
Dayton earned eight PFL weekly accolades this year while finishing with a 7-4 record overall and 5-3 PFL mark.
