Men’s Tennis Extends Winning Streak To Six After Doubleheader

Flyers Roll Past Cedarville and NKU

DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team extended its winning streak with back-to-back victories in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Flyers cruised to a 7-0 home win over NCAA Division II Cedarville before securing a 6-1 road victory against Northern Kentucky.

Against Cedarville, the Flyers set the tone early, led by sophomore Kyle McNally's dominant 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Dayton carried that momentum through singles play, winning every set. On the road against Northern Kentucky, the Flyers continued their strong singles performance, claiming a 5-1 advantage. Freshman Kaia Mendibe got things rolling at No. 3 with a swift 6-0, 6-0 victory.

In doubles action against the Yellow Jackets, McNally and freshman Brady Hussey secured a 6-2 win at No. 1, while junior Sai Dore and freshman Sturle Skigelstrand dominated with a 6-0 victory at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point. Against the Norse, the Flyers took the doubles point with a 6-4 win from Hussey and McNally, along with a commanding 6-1 triumph from Dore and Skigelstrand.

Up Next
The Flyers will face an SEC opponent on Wednesday, Feb. 19 as they head to Lexington, Ky., for a road matchup against Kentucky at the Boone Tennis Complex.
